Made to orderOur Lady of Fátima with hands joined on the cloud, the crown applied separately and the arabesques of the hem painted one by one with a fine brush.
The satin white of the mantle plays against the gold lines and the gilded base. This is an altar piece: it asks for candlelight nearby, not a spotlight.

The story of this piece
Made for the chapel of a house in Maceió, where the family prays the rosary every night in May. The crown was remade three times before it sat at the right proportion.
Every piece is painted by hand. Small variations in colour between one statue and the next are not a flaw: they are the signature of handwork.
