Restoration of
sacred statues
The studio began with restoration. Family statues that arrived broken, the paint worn away and the face almost gone — and that went back home whole, without losing what made them old.
The principle
Restoration is not repainting
Whatever can be saved of the original paint stays; whatever has to be redone is redone in the tone of what stayed. A piece that comes back looking new has lost the very thing that made it worth keeping.
- Structure
- Broken, missing or badly glued parts get their form back — modelled by hand, following the piece's own drawing.
- Paint
- The original layer is what decides. Only what cannot be saved is repainted, and in the tone of what stayed beside it.
- Finishing
- Gilding, arabesques and patina redone with the same technique as the studio's new pieces.

Once the piece is handed over, the work begins. You follow it by photo to the end.
The quote depends on the condition of the piece, which is why there is no price list: a statue with a broken hand and a statue with a faded face are two different jobs.
